THE ADVANCE OF SURGERY IN INDIA. In the Caledonian Medical Journal (April 1908) Colonel Kenneth Macleod, f.r.c.s., Hony. Physician to H. M. the King, deals with a subject in which he was much interested during his long tenure of the appointment of Professor of Surgery in the Calcutta Medical College. Under the title Hospitalism in India he describes the advances of antiseptic and aseptic surgery since the introduction of the methods of Lord Lister. What Colonel Macleod has written is chiefly of course applicable to Calcutta where he practised so long; but the general results apply to the whole of India and are of very considerable interest.
